This boutique hostel has been recently renovated but in a way as to not lose that traditional Japanese warm, family atmosphere. Sleeping just 27, it offers a mix of Japanese and western influence in its rooms. Guest have access to the large communal kitchen which is fully equipped with cooking and eating utensils. The dining area is right next to the kitchen and large enough for all guests. Guests will enjoy the large tatami lounge area with a big screen TV, DVDs and a reading area. Breakfast is included which includes a fresh continental breakfast using local produce. A perfect way to start your day!
The hostel rooms are traditional with some western influences. All clean and comfortable, they are sufficient for a weeks stay or so. The deluxe ensuites rooms offer two single low beds, that can be pushed together to make a queen plus there is space for two additional fold out beds. These also include a private bathroom with shower and include towels and air-conditioning. The sitting area is set on traditional tatami flooring. The private rooms are available as twin, double or triple, again with low beds set on tatami flooring. These rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities and include bath towels. The dorm style rooms each sleep 4 with low single beds. These are available in mixed and female only rooms. Individual lockers are included but bath towels are not.

Set in Yamanouchi town, it is surrounded many restaurants and cafes. It is a six minute walk from Yudanaka Station and is a great location to explore the Northern Nagano area. Car spaces are available, however limited so must be advised in advance. From Yudanaka station, a bus is available to Shiga Kogen which is only 30 minutes away. The Jigokudani Monkey Park is only a ten minute drive away.
Guest check-in time is 10am. Guest check-out time is 3-9pm. Due to the nature of hostel, guests are asked to check in not later than 9pm. If catching a train from Narita, take a train no later than 4pm to ensure arrival is prior to 9pm.
